Everyone employed is warm, welcoming, and wonderful. Thank you for your time and what you have done for my son...his progress is remarkable!
As a parent of a child that would gag as every bite of pureed food hit his tongue, it began to get very overwhelming and frustrating. My son would refuse to go in a high chair or open his mouth. When we thought it could not get any better we were introduced to Valley Family Therapeutics. Through their hard work and dedication during 3 months of treatment, our 18 month old is now eating more age appropriate foods and is actually enjoying it! We are forever grateful to have met Sonja and her clinic. She is amazing and we could not have gotten him to where he is today without her help.
Great job. You can tell the staff really cares about the children.
My child was tested through Valley Family Therapeutics last year. Although she is now 22, I spent her high school and college years trying to support and problem solve with educators, specialists, and doctors. I am sure that my actions were interpreted as those of "another crazy parent" with most of the professionals from whom I sought help. Thanks to the response from Valley Family Therapeutics, my child was able to get what she needed. Her outlook on life and her future are now positive. She understands and feels better about herself. She realizes that she has the capability and potential to meet her goals both academic and personal. I will be forever grateful to you and your staff.
My daughter is a 3 1/2 year old little girl who has a diagnosis of apraxia of speech. We have had our daughter in early intervention since she was 18 months old, and she has been receiving intense speech therapy 3 days per week ever since. When we made the transition from early intervention to intermediate unit services, our family was very worried that our daughter would not receive the kind of attention and individualized therapy that was very much needed for her diagnosis. After speaking to many of the local hospitals, therapy practices and doing my own online research, I was blessed to meet Sonja Burmeister from Valley Family Therapeutics. I was immediately put at ease after Sonja so kindly and graciously answered what felt like the hundreds of questions I had for her regarding Valley Family and the SLP she had in mind for my sweet girl. From that moment, I knew our family was in great hands. We knew we did not want an overly large practice, and I especially did not want my daughter sitting in a hospital or stuffy building to receive her therapy at age 3. Sonja knew we wanted an experienced SLP with a specialty in apraxia; someone who would be fun and motivating for our sweet and sassy princess. The loving and kid-friendly environment that is offered by Valley Family also grabbed our attention quickly as well. To this day, my daughter has loved going to Valley Family Therapeutics each week to see one of her favorite people, her SLP, Jeanette. I am able to participate in every single speech session so there could be family carryover, something that is recommended for children with apraxia of speech. As my daughter reaches goals, Jeanette modifies to push my daughter even more to reach her highest potential with the speech strategies for her apraxia. It became very clear to me during our first few visits how family oriented and professional the entire staff is at Valley Family Therapeutics. The office manager, Gayle, was such a huge help in taking on all of our insurance and financial issues to get us started. She did all of the work and called me to give updates, always staying positive and kind in her dealings with us. My husband and I cannot thank Valley Family Therapeutics enough for providing our daughter with the VERY BEST! I am so very happy to share that our daughter is on her way to resolving her apraxia, and it would not be possible without Jeanette's expertise and teaching from Valley Family Therapeutics.
