Developmental Testing

Sonja Burmeister

Sonja has been a Pediatric Occupational Therapist for 18 years and has an Early Intervention Certification. She continued her education to Specialize in Pediatric Neurosurgery as a Physicians Assistant and she brings that wealth of knowledge to her OT practice. For the past 8 years, Sonja as been co-owner of an agency providing home and school based services for Lehigh, Northampton and Berks Counties. Currently Sonja is enrolled in the Doctoral Program for Occupational Therapy at Misericordia University. Sonja treats complex medical and NICU

babies, Feeding Issues, Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism, Torticollis, Cerebral Palsy, Plagiocephally, Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, CVA and a myriad of other diagnoses.

Auditory Processing

John Page

Dr. Page received his doctorate of Audiology degree in 1970 from Indiana University. He

was assistant professor of pediatrics at the Medical College of Pennsylvania prior to

relocating to the Lehigh Valley. He has been associated with Slate Belt Optical and

Hearing Center since 1989, providing hearing evaluations and hearing aid fittings to the

adult community. In addition he performs central auditory processing assessments on

children and adults with auditory learning problems and listening difficulties. John has

also been a consultant for school districts regarding auditory processing disorders, conducted multiple

presentations, and published articles on hearing loss in children and adults.


Melissa LaRusso

Melissa LaRusso M.Ed is a certified reading specialist with over fifteen years teaching

experience. Melissa is also certified in special education and elementary education.

Melissa has worked in public and private schools throughout the Lehigh valley. She

develops a curriculum that is individualized and encompasses a multisensory approach

to learning to meet student needs. She has presented on a multisensory approach to

reading instruction and best teaching practices to educators throughout the state of


Bilingual Speech Language Pathology

Jeanette Duarte

Jeanette is a bilingual Speech Language Pathologist. She has been practicing as a Pediatric SLP for 7 years. Jeanette has extensive knowledge and training in PROMPT (Prompt’s for restructuring oral musculature phonetic targets), Beckman Oral Motor Evaluation techniques and the Hanen Approach (“It takes two to talk”). Jeanette enjoys working with the pediatric population and has experience working with early language development and play skills, stuttering, articulation and phonological disorders, developmental apraxia of speech, receptive and/or expressive language

delays as well as with children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism, Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy.

BCBA (Behavioral Health, Applied Behavior Analysis

Doreen Quinn
Doreen is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Licensed Behavior

Specialist. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis. She specializes in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs); ABA programming including Applied Verbal Behavior; behavior change and skill

development programs; social and play skill programs; parent and professional staff training and development. She works with children of all ages with all developmental disabilities with a specific emphasis on Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Occupational Therapy

Kim Bandi

Kim has been a Pediatric Occupational Therapist for 14 years and is a Level 1 Certified Handwriting Specialist. Kim has worked with children diagnosed with Autism, Developmental Delay, Learning Disabilities, Fine Motor Delay, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder and Cerebral Palsy.

Her current focus is assisting school aged children to maximize their learning in the classroom.
